On the foots of majestic Nilgiri hills is Coimbatore, known as the Manchester of South India for its numerous textile mills. The college museum has different varieties of minerals, rocks, pests, snakes and insects. The Perur temple on the outskirts of the city is flocked by devotees of Lord Shiva. Another most visited temple is Marudhamalai temple of Lord Subramanya. It is believed that the Lord has miraculous powers. Tourists who come to visit beautiful Coimbatore can also go for excursions to Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Thirumoorthy temple, Bhavani and Siruvani temple.
